Some time i just stay and space don't work. But 100% air control does workaround with jump on place and run when it's work.
P.S.: I think you enable jump when fox collides ground, but collisiona and velocity zeroes every frame. I recommend to set additional collision-sensor point slightly beneath and enable jump by it.
